Meet Prakash.
Prakash and I both ordered lemon soda.
I ordered masala, he ordered jaljeera.
His tasted better.
I wanted his.
He refused.
When he wasn't looking,
I swapped our drinks.
I was awesome.
I couldn't stop giggling.
I drank the whole thing.
I found out a few days later
That he knew about the swap the WHOLE time

She, a mother of two grown up girls told me in the course of our almost one sided conversation that she had had a love disappointment when she was younger. She quickly added that her adolescent daughter, my friend; didn't know.
It was how she had come to marry the man she was married to.
From the sound of her story, he was not so much her definition of a husband, more, the a father to her daughters.

He told me about how displeased he was with the quality of his long island iced tea at this restaurant that was highly recommended.
I understood his angst.
I told him about how, on my way to dinner, I saw this man, clearly poor, being pushed around by the cops.
I think he understood too.
